Neoplasticism is the belief that art should not be the reproduction of real objects, but the expression of the absolutes of life.
Neoplasticisists started the Dutch art movement De Stijl in the 1920s. De Stijl proposed ultimate simplicity and abstraction by using only straight (horizontal and vertical) lines and rectangular forms. Their formal vocabulary was limited furthermore to the primary colors red, yellow and blue and the three primary values black, white and grey. The works avoided symmetry and attained aesthetic balance by the use of opposition.
Rosetta is presenting the artwork for their album six pm to sunday morning in a form of digital-neoplasticism, with all shapes defined by different typographical font selections, using only the values black and white, and pastal shades of three primary colors.
